The SINGER Heavy Duty 4452 is designed for with heavy duty projects in mind, from denim to canvas, but the machine can also handle everyday sewing needs and lighter fabrics.

Groundworks does not supply any fabric or thread, but we do have a variety of tools to help you with your project including: cutting mats, a rotary cutter and blades, quilting rulers, pins, and a variety of other standard sewing supplies.
Patrons may schedule a 1-1 appointment to learn how to use the machine before making an equipment reservation.
Use of the sewing machine is free. Aside from the tools and accessories listed in the description, patrons are required to bring their own supplies. Fabric and other materials can be purchased from local stores (Pressing Matters Quilt Shoppe and Fields Fabrics), most big box stores, and online craft stores like Spoonflower, JOANN Fabrics, Michaels and many more.
Herrick District Library has a wide variety of sewing pattern resources in print and ebook formats. Creativebug (FREE with HDL card) also has wonderful tutorials to get you started on your sewing journey or browse around for inspiration. Many workshops offer free downloadable patterns.
